Oh, how has this year passed,
with people on this planet confined and masked.
“It is a new year and a new decade,”
this was what people in the world had said,
Little did they know that this year
would make them fear
a viral outbreak keeping lives at stake.
An impending danger looming around their heads,
because on human immunity, the virus has fed.
The world started staying indoors,
their hustle-bustle turned into household chores,
the pause and break allowed nature to bloom,
giving every individual the chance to think and groom.
Flora and fauna were rejuvenated,
pollution and global warming were abated,
“This too shall pass; this too shall pass"
this was what we heard,
leaving us humans flabbergasted and flustered.
The frontline workers risked their all,
the society came together, in big ways and small.
We sought to fight the virus together as humanity,
leaving behind our fuss and vanity.
Nations came together and strives were taken collectively,
mental health was given the utmost priority.
Yes, it took a pandemic to take control of the human race,
hoping that the world will grow with more grace.
For seeking happiness, peace and brotherhood is humane,
only then do love, prosperity and development reign!
