alone on the beach

Dark pavement lined with yellow trees…

Never mind the buildings, they look the

same.

Trees bursting bark and root to

come up with colors to rival the

sun’s intensity.

They stand:

still.

The wind, sticking a finger

in, stirs, ruffles the piles,

leafs through them, looking

for something.

A new color.

A beetle boy.

Always frustrated and always hurried…

Nothing is gold enough.

The wind keeps pushing.

It continues its tantrum through white winter.

Yet the feeling remains, when the

sun leaves you, and you find

yourself,

alone on the beach.
