Dr Olive Cheung and Mr Matthew Knowles returned to conduct a workshop on writing up the capstone thesis in Dr Murat Es’ URSP4002/4004 Capstone Thesis/Project II. This is the 7^th joint workshop with Dr Es in the Urban Studies Programme, and the second time the intervention was taught online via Zoom, the other being the literature review workshop in the first term. To prepare students to complete the second leg of their capstone theses and projects, Dr Cheung and Mr Knowles provided in-depth instruction and advice on abstract structure, language use, verb tenses, and proofreading. The workshop was strategically structured to adopt to the online environment and scaffold student learning. Interactive features and hands-on activities using student samples were also incorporated, which garnered high participation in breakout room group activities and UReply poll responses. The EAC project team is happy to receive very positive feedback, and is dedicated to sustaining future interventions in the longstanding collaboration with the Urban Studies Programme.
