On 7 October 2020, Ms Molly Tuttle conducted a two-hour workshop for MAE final-year students to prepare them for writing their final year project reports. This workshop aimed to help students understand the overall structural conventions, common language features and writing style of a technical paper. Despite the limitations of online teaching, Ms Tuttle utilized all current available resources to create an interactive and relaxing learning environment for students, and the workshop was well received. Students also appreciated the content of the workshop that can help them write an organized report and praised the teacher’s clear delivery. Absentees from the workshop were invited to watch the workshop recording and complete a comprehension quiz afterwards to ensure every student can benefit from the workshop. The EAC team looks forward to providing another report writing workshop in the coming semester.
