On October 10th, 2022, Mr. Chun Wai Leung conducted a one-hour-45-minute workshop on response paper writing preparation for Professor Chaoxiong Zhang’s course, ANTH1100 Understanding Anthropology. The objective of the workshop was to teach students how to 1) describe the structure and elements of a response paper, 2) paraphrase sources when incorporating them in their writing, 3) explain the importance of hedging in academic writing, and 4) choose tenses in academic writing appropriately. The workshop was conducted with the aid of a PowerPoint presentation and an accompanying handout listing the key points of the workshop with excerpts of sample response papers and tasks for practice.
