On the 2^nd and 8^th of October 2024, Mr. Andy O’Gorman conducted two workshop sessions on final-year project (FYP) report writing for undergraduate students, as part of the collaboration between the English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) and the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering (MAE). The workshop sessions were held in person and focused on structural conventions and language features of FYP reports. The workshop combined lecture-style teaching and interactive exercises, providing guidance on common language mistakes and academic writing standards. Feedback from an anonymous survey showed that students perceived the workshop positively and appreciated Mr. O’Gorman’s teaching style. The EAC team is looking forward to continuing this collaboration with the MAE Department in the future.
