The EAC team from ELTU conducted two repeated sessions of the same research writing workshop on 25 & 26 February 2022 for final-year students from the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education (SSPE) currently taking SPED4900 Research Project. With the ongoing development of the COVID-19 pandemic, the workshop was conducted via Zoom.

The objectives of the workshop include (1) to reinforce the content covered in Workshop 1 (conducted in March 2021); (2) to introduce research report writing skills (especially for results, discussion & conclusion sections); and (3) to provide further language support and introduce research writing resources. To facilitate students’ independent learning, a set of handout with suggested online learning resources, together with the PPT of the workshop, was shared with the students afterward.

The post-workshop survey results show that the workshop was generally well-received. Students particularly appreciated the instructors’ enthusiasm about delivering the workshop and the design of the in-class activities which enhanced the interaction between the instructors and the students. They also found the recommended resources helpful in enriching their knowledge in research writing. The EAC team was encouraged by the positive response.
