On 31 March and 1 April, the second Final Year Project (FYP) presentation workshop for undergraduate students in the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) was conducted by Mr. Eddie Nie, an instructor from the English Language and Teaching Unit (ELTU). The workshop consisted of two identical evening sessions aimed at helping students prepare for their oral presentations. During the sessions, students learned strategies for effectively communicating their research orally, identified key language conventions specific to their field, explored techniques for explaining technical ideas to a varied audience, and practiced navigating Q&A sessions. Feedback from students highlighted their appreciation for Mr. Nie’s clear instruction and engaging teaching style. The EAC team looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the BME department in the future.
