The Creative Writing Salon is a brand new intervention offered by the Creative Writing Project team. It offers a safe and friendly space for the discussion of the literary craft and the sharing of creative work, endeavours, and ideas. The purpose is to leave the writing salon feeling refreshed, inspired, and motivated to dive deeper into the genre of creative writing. To make the most out of the writing salon, participants were encouraged to bring some of their written work for peer critique. Dr Christelle Davis, the moderator of the activity, launched the first writing salon on 29 September, 2020. The small group session was a rewarding and close-knit experience, where participants engaged in thought-provoking and insightful discussions on the aspirations, inspirations, and challenges of creative writing. The participants praised the session to be stimulating and enriching, and they look forward to attending more writing salons in the future.
