In our second collaboration with the Department of Anthropology, Ms Lani Freeborn, lecturer of ELTU, conducted a reading workshop on 2nd March 2018 for the students in the course World Ethnography (ANTH2200). Prior to this workshop, a survey was conducted and it was found that most students from the ANTH2200 course wanted to receive more support in terms of reading due to their heavy reading load. In response to students’ needs, this workshop focused on effective reading strategies to help students become better readers.
Reading exercises were provided to students in the workshop, using their current course reading materials as examples. Also, some tips on note taking were shared by Ms Freeborn to guide students on their next assigned reading.
