On October 9, 2024, Mr. Chun Wai Leung delivered a workshop to prepare undergraduate students for writing response papers in Dr Tim Rosenkranz’s ANTH1100 Understanding Anthropology course. The learning outcomes of the workshop included understanding how to cite sources appropriately and learning about the structure and elements of a response paper. Students greatly appreciated both the content and delivery of the workshop, highlighting the exercises and tasks, as well as Mr. Leung’s clear instruction.

After the first response paper was submitted, Mr. Leung held a follow-up Feedback Session workshop to review and provide feedback on students’ response papers on November 6, 2024. This workshop intended to encourage students to evaluate the structure and information flow of their writing, avoid similar issues in their future response papers, and proofread their writing with a higher level of English language awareness. Students valued the use of student samples, which gave them a reference to understand the strengths and areas for improvement in their work.

The EAC team is pleased with the positive responses from students and looks forward to future collaborations with Dr Rosenkranz and the Department of Anthropology.
