During the 2023-24 academic year, the English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) administered two eLearning Modules on final year project (FYP) report writing for undergraduate students in the Earth and Environmental Sciences Programme (EESC). These modules aimed to allow students to independently acquire an in-depth understanding of the structural requirements and essential content of an FYP report in Module I (Term 1), as well as the language conventions in Module II (Term 2). In the modules, students were provided with explanatory texts in all sub-sections and then invited to complete interactive exercises to practice and consolidate the newly acquired knowledge. In a feedback survey, student responses were overwhelmingly positive, indicating that the eLearning modules were an effective mode of instruction. The EAC team considers the intervention a success and is looking forward to continuing the collaborative partnership with the Earth and Environmental Sciences Programme.
