On March 28th, 2023, Dr. Allen Ho joined Professor Douglas Gildow’s class, CURE 2157 Intermediate Seminar, to present a workshop on writing strategies for academic and research papers. The first portion of the workshop went over how to approach reading as a writer and how to organize evidence utilizing a synthesis matrix to best facilitate the writing process. The second half of the workshop reviewed some common language errors including sentence structures and academic formality. Support resources were also provided so that students can study on their own and help them while writing their final paper. Students appreciated Dr. Ho’s enthusiastic delivery of the material and were grateful for the strategies that the workshop introduced them to. The EAC project team is pleased that this workshop was such a success and looks forward to further collaborations with the Department of Cultural and Religious Studies.
