This course seeks to equip undergraduate students across various disciplines to develop persuasive data-driven spoken and written communication in English for academic and professional purposes. Students will learn how to describe, interpret and apply different data visualization and storytelling techniques to deliver quantitative information across physical and virtual contexts, in both academic and professional communicative settings. Emphasis will be placed on language precision, clarity in visual design, and adaptability of communication strategies to different audiences and communicative goals (e.g., informing, justifying, recommending, advocating).
