This course is designed for second-year students in the Faculty of Education to improve their academic English skills to successfully complete learning tasks. Through collaborative learning and independent study, students are provided with opportunities to use English as a communication tool in teaching and learning contexts. The course emphasizes an understanding and application of the ‘language of persuasion’ or ethos, logos, and pathos, critical listening skills, academic presentation skills, and the development of persuasive writing based on research.
