On the 29th and 30th of September 2025, Mr. Andy O’Gorman conducted two identical workshop sessions on final-year project (FYP) report writing for undergraduate students as part of the ongoing collaboration between the English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) and the Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering (MAE). During the workshop, students learned about the structural conventions and language features of FYP reports. Mr. O’Gorman employed both lecture-style instruction and interactive exercises to educate students and assess their understanding of common language mistakes and academic writing standards. Feedback from a post-workshop survey indicated that students had a positive perception of the workshop and appreciated Mr. O’Gorman’s engaging and relaxed teaching style. The EAC team looks forward to continuing this collaboration with the MAE Department in the future.
