On 16 October 2025, Mr Johnson Chan conducted the first legal writing workshop in the series via Zoom. The workshop was designed for students in the Faculty of Law studying Juris Doctor or Bachelor of Laws. Three foundational skills of legal writing were taught in the workshop, including 1) paraphrasing the facts of a given scenario, 2) capturing the correctly identified legal principles, and 3) applying the legal principles appropriately. The workshop aimed to equip students with foundational legal writing skills and prepare them for assignments. The overall student feedback received was positive, and students expressed contentment on the workshop’s clear delivery and practicality.
