On 10 and 12 November 2025, Mr Andy O’Gorman gave two identical in-person workshops on English Across the Curriculum (EAC) for final-year Information Engineering (IE) students. The workshop aimed to familiarize final-year IE undergraduates with preparing and delivering FYP PowerPoint presentations, focusing on the differences between written FYP reports and the effective translation of results into oral presentations. Mr O’Gorman taught students about PowerPoint structure and design conventions, as well as strategies for navigating Q&A sessions. Students also received a handout to support their revision of the workshop content and participated in interactive exercises to test their retention of the material. In a post-workshop feedback survey, students expressed their appreciation for Mr O’Gorman’s engaging and clear teaching style, as well as for the information and materials provided. The EAC team considers this workshop a success and looks forward to future collaborations with the IE department.
