In Term 2 of the 2025–26 academic year, the English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) and the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences (EESC) provided a second e-learning module on academic writing, focusing on language errors, to undergraduate students. The module was designed to familiarise students with common errors in EESC FYP writing, including subject–verb agreement, passive voice, verb tense usage, and issues related to coherence and cohesion. Through a series of interactive exercises, students were presented with sample work from previous EESC students and were asked to analyse it. This approach ensured that the module content was both reliable and relatable. Students were able to progress at their own pace and revisit the materials throughout the term.

In the post-intervention feedback survey, students provided generally positive responses while also offering suggestions for improvement, particularly regarding usability. In terms of the mode of instruction, students showed a clear preference for the module when compared to traditional face-to-face workshops. Overall, the EAC team considers this initiative a success and looks forward to continuing its collaboration with the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.
